For its inaugural season, CJO presented one of its most beloved shows, Countin’ On Basie – a collection of hits paying homage to William “Count” Basie, one of the greatest American bandleaders of all time. Over its eight decades of performing, the Basie band has employed South Carolina musicians, giving it a feel that comes naturally to the Charleston area’s own ensemble.
