Art on Paper Fair

The Gibbes Museum of Art is pleased to announce its second-annual Art on Paper Fair. This exciting weekend celebrates the visual arts of Charleston with fabulous artwork for sale, lively programs, demonstrations, and fun events. 2013 Harvest Festival

Long ago, agricultural families in the Colonial Southeast and across America gathered every fall to give thanks and celebrate a bountiful Harvest season with a day of feasting, games, music and fun. To keep this spirited tradition alive, the Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission will host the 12th Annual Southern Eagle Harvest Fest at Mullet Hall Equestrian Center. Come on down and enjoy some foot-stompin’ live music from five local bluegrass bands. There is plenty to keep the kiddies occupied including hay rides, a stick pony corral, pumpkin decorating, penny diving, lasso demonstrations, crafts and more. 16th Annual Tour of Homes
November 2, 2013 from 10AM - 4PM
For the first time, homes on both Kiawah and Seabrook Islands will be featured on the Charleston Symphony Orchestra League’s (CSOL) 16th Annual Symphony Tour of Homes. For the past 15 years, the Symphony Tour of Homes has been known for showcasing a wide variety of outstanding residences, each unique in its architectural and interior design, reflecting the varied interests and lifestyles of their owners, and this year is no exception. Guests are invited to tour five exceptional homes, all enhanced by live music provided by CSOL scholarship recipients and Charleston Symphony Orchestra (CSO) musicians.  They will also enjoy a special 5PM concert on The Green at Freshfields Village featuring the Charleston Symphony Orchestra with former Assistant Concertmaster, Stuart Malina conducting. North Charleston POPS - Military Salute

The North Charleston POPS! honors our country’s Veterans and enlisted troops in a moving and diverse concert of patriotic and popular music. Las Vegas artist Steve Lippia sings the biggest hits of Frank Sinatra, Andy Williams and others. 15th Annual Charleston James Island Connector Run
November 2, 2013
Kick off the month of November in Charleston, SC at the 15th Annual Charleston James Island Connector Run! Sign up for the 10K Run & Fun Bike Ride of the 5K Run & Walk! Both runs start at Cannon Park near the corner of Ashley Ave. and Bennett St. Pre-race activities will take place at Cannon Park. The post-race festival will also be held at Cannon Park and includes food, water, beer and a band. Proceeds from the Charleston James Island Connector Run benefit the Gavalas Kolanko Foundation (GKF), a local charity that awards annual scholarships to students with physical disabilities. Slim Down The South Celebrity Softball Game

The Southwest Airlines Slim Down the South Celebrity Softball Challenge is an amazing 'Field of Dreams' day at the ballpark and a softball game between celebrity teams to raise awareness and monies for Louie's Kids to combat childhood obesity in the areas hardest hit by this epidemic. There will be a dedicated kid’s area during the game, funny antics during and between innings and an entertaining game of softball to complete the night!

YALLFest in Charleston SC

20th Running of the Charleston Cup

The 20th running of the Charleston Cup will take place at The Plantation at Stono Ferry on Sunday, November 10, 2013. Started by the South Carolina Jockey Club, the Charleston Cup is much more than just a horse race. The Cup is the social event of the season – and definitely not to be missed! You don’t have to be a “horse person” to enjoy all the Charleston Cup has to offer. The race weekend kicks off with the elegant black-tie Race Ball on Friday. Live music, fabulous food and a special race preview combine to make this gala party an essential element in the total Cup experience. Sunday morning, the real excitement begins as the nation’s top riders, trainers, and owners prepare to compete for purses totaling $50,000. Over 16,000 spectators will enjoy a full day at the races with exciting steeplechase and flat races. The gates open at 9:00AM, and attendees arrive early with their picnic baskets packed with everything from champagne and caviar to fried chicken and cold beer. Charleston Classic
November 21 - 24, 2013
The 2013 Charleston Classic will be held November 21, 22 and 24, at TD Arena in Charleston, SC. The sixth annual event features an eight-team field, including UAB, Clemson, Davidson, Georgia, UMass, Nebraska, New Mexico and Temple. The Charleston Classic will feature a bracket format with 12 games over three days. Each team will compete in one game per day, advancing through the bracket. The two teams that remain undefeated throughout will face off in a championship game on the final day of competition. Call 843-953-2632 for more information.

5th Annual Holiday Pub Crawl

The 5th annual Holiday Pub Crawl is back by popular demand! The pub tour is the absolute BEST way to tour Charleston in a unique and festive way, celebrating everything local!
